Most people get a ringing tone within a minute. Here’s how.
Rest the bowl on its cushion, or balance it on your flat, open palm. Don’t grip the sides; your fingers stop the sound.
Tap the outer rim once with the mallet. Let the tone ring and fade fully before playing again.
Press the wooden side against the rim and circle slowly with steady pressure. The hum builds into a continuous song.
